With a draft of just 18” Eleanor is unique in her ability to poke around the skinny backwaters that occur in abundance just off the ICW. Typically yacht charter vessels of 36’ will be limited to cruising the ICW, Cape Fear River and the marked channels of Masonboro. With a combination of local knowledge and a shallow draft our customers are able to experience the serene pleasures of the Lea-Hutaff Island and the forever evolving Rich’s Inlet, Mason Inlet and Topsail Island.
Another advantage of Eleanor’s shallow draft and the manoeuvrability of the jet drive is the ability to moor stern to at the sandbar. There is a small teak swim platform that allows guests to step straight into the shallows with ease and quickly access the beach. Other vessels of this size typically will have to sit at anchor in deep water.
